    • Perfect for keeping in your trunk "just in case" when traveling through areas requiring chains on hand
  • Includes custom, rubber tensioners to help provide a tight fit

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

If you've driven in bad winter weather, then there's no doubt you've experienced the unsettling feeling of your vehicle sliding during turns or bends in the road. Conquer turns and winding country roads with these cable chains from Titan Chain. The diagonal pattern provides better traction during turns than traditional ladder patterns, and because there is always a cable in contact with the ground, it will increase your stopping power too. You won't have to worry about finding the right tensioners either - tensioners designed specifically for these cables are included, ensuring a tight fit.

If you need a little extra traction in the snow, these cables are great. But if you live somewhere where you experience heavy snow often, you'll definitely want something more heavy duty than cables. Because these cable chains are lightweight and don't take up a lot of storage space, they are also perfect for keeping in your trunk if you occasionally travel through areas that require you to have chains on hand.

Class S Designation

SAE Class S tire chains are designed for use on passenger vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. Most newer cars, vans, and small trucks - especially those with large aftermarket tires - will require Class S chains. If you're unsure about the class of your vehicle, consult your vehicle's user manual.

SAE Class S Clearance Diagram

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even low-profile chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Cable Chains

Installing these chains is simple.

Lay chains on the ground.

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.

Make connections behind the tire.

2. Slide the chain behind the tire and connect the ends of the rear cable.

Make connections in front of the tire.

3. Around front, slide the cable at the top of your tire through the corresponding eye hook. Repeat at the bottom of the tire.

Install rubber tensioners.

4. Pull the cable as tight as you can, then clip the included rubber adjuster onto the cable in a star pattern. Make sure the hooks on the adjuster face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

They seem to be very well made. Watching the installation video first is a good idea.

Thank you, Guy

Bought two pairs of these for my enclosed trailer, as I believe in redundancy. I barely avoided a snow storm so I hadn't had to use them in action yet, but they are easy to install and seem to be quite solidly built.

Although I may never use them, I now have a set of Cable Chains for my trailer that are required in many states. Excellent fit!

To be clear, I have not used the tire chains in snow yet. But etrailer's info they provided, clear communication, and speedy delivery were fantastic. I put the tire chains on using their helpful video and had zero problems despite this being my first time ever.

by:

I have not had to use the tire cables as the vehicle I bought them for is 4x4. I’m sure they will work just fine if needed

Haven't used tire cables yet … but … did install one to check the fit and look. And the thing fit perfectly on my 2019 F150 with 245/70r17 tires. Even look pretty good too! I especially like that the cables can be put on as the truck sets - no need to lay them out and back over them. And the carrying bag is nice - keeps everything together and able to be stored under a seat, in the bed, or wherever. I thought about getting chains with v-bars … but didn't think I needed anything that aggressive - so the tire cables ought to do just fine in deeper snow, packed snow and maybe even on ice.

by:

The only thing better than the snow chains was the the ease of ordering. An excellent company! They have gotten me home safe in the worst storms!

by:

Fit our new Honda Pilot perfectly!

by:

I haven't tried them in the snow yet, and hope I never have to, but they're super-easy to install in my driveway. The communication with and service from etrailer was beyond great.

by:

We purchased these in 2023 and they worked perfectly for our snow trip to flagstaff. The customer service we received was amazing as well. Thank you.

by:

These were mounted on a 2017 Fiat 500 Sport. Last February we drove from Quartzsite Arizona thru Santa Fe New Mexico to Denver, Boulder, and then spent 3 weeks in Aspen Colorado before heading west back to Quartzsite. In Aspen it snowed nearly every day and I put the chains on and removed the chains multiple times. By the third cycle I had the installation wired and could install them on the side of the road in a raging blizzard in less than 5-6 minutes - with gloves on. Great product that worked incredibly well. We could have never done the trip without them.

by:

Received chains much earlier than I expected. etrailer is great to work with. Got notice when they shipped and confirmation when I received them. Watched their installation video and was able to install my chains easily. They fit perfectly and looking forward to hitting the mountain snow!

by:

Great tire chain used it this thanks giving and after seeing so many cheaper ones and some expensive ones break I was glad I got this make great chains easy to put on and worked great

by:

The set of Cable Chains I bought were clearly used or returns.
The spider tighteners had use marks on them and the cables themselves had clearly been tried out, or on, and just thrown into the carry bag with the twisty-ties thrown in the bottom.
Bummed me out some, but I didn’t have time to complain at the time as I got them just in time to drive back up to Alaska.
When I got back to Alaska I sent off a review.
Y’all can do better. I believed I’d bought something new, not a retread.

by:

Super tight fit but being a 67 yr old female I was able to manage getting them installed.

by:

They are a rather snug fit on my Honda CRV 235/60R18 tires but worked beautifully on my very icy hillside 1/3 mile driveway. Easy to put on. Very happy to have them.

by:

Shipping was quick and communication was great from purchase to delivery. The cable chains install quick and easy in one step without having to move your vehicle at all. Fit is perfect and snug for my 255/70R18 tires.

by:

I haven't put them yet, but going by the other ones I bought they should work well.

by:

The chains I ordered were out of stock but I appreciated that the website had an expected arrival date for when they were back in stock. The videos on the product page were a great addition and was the main reason why I bought from etrailer. The chains themselves arrived neatly bundled in the carrying case. During my practice install, I made the mistake of not carefully looking at the directions and struggled with putting them on but once I actually read the directions, installation was a breeze. I haven't tried them in the snow yet but I mainly bought them because where I am going requires vehicles to carry chains in the winter.

These chains were a lifesaver! Our ski trip to Mt. Hood Meadows was only possible because of these chains. Oregon has strict chain laws, but rental car companies will not rent you chains. Because we were to arrive in Oregon the day after Christmas, when no tire stores would be open, I had to figure out an alternate plan. After lots of research to determine which rental car make/model we were likely to get and the most common tire sizes on those vehicles, I purchased these light and portable chains and we brought them with us from the East coast. Other reviewers indicated these chains were easy to install & remove, and we can confirm they are! The folks at etrailer were really helpful when I emailed. And the website is extremely user-friendly, with videos showing installation and a quick and easy way to determine the most likely tire sizes on a vehicle. Thank you etrailer for making our holiday ski trip possible!

  • Recommended Tire Chain Size for my 2005 Toyota Sienna
For your 2005 Toyota Sienna the part # TC339DC that you have will not work. Instead the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains part # TC335DC is the route to go. While it is just a small difference in size the difference is enough that a different set is required for a safe and secure fit. Check your owner's manual on both vehicles to ensure you follow any guidelines they may have in place so avoid any issues.

The difference in size between the two tire sized you mentioned would not allow the same chain to fit both. • Recommended Tire Cables for 215/55-17 Size Tires on a 2014 Chevy Volt
Out of the cable chains that fit the 215/55-17 size tire on your 2014 Chevy Volt I recommend the Titan Chain part # TC335DC because it has a diagonal design which will give you better traction than a ladder version like part # PW1038. The recommended chains also include adjusters which ensure a snug fit. Attached is a review video for you to check out. Be sure to also look in your owner's manual for any specific instructions or restrictions about tire chains.

Since you have limited clearance these would be the best choice, and their diamon design improves cornering. • Do I Need Snow Tire Chains For All 4 Tires On My Front Wheel Drive 2007 Toyota Avalon?
You could certainly just add chains to the front tires since that would provide you with driving traction. But ideally you would want all four tires to have chains regardless of which axles drive the vehicle, as this would be the most effective and safest approach. That being said, I did check the owner's manual for your 2007 Toyota Avalon and it appears that Toyota recommends chains only be installed on the front tires. It looks like the two most common tire sizes on a 2007 Toyota Avalon...
